Just wanted to share some happy news...

FH just got a call from our best man and he just got engaged...they are getting married in February 2006! I am soooo happy for him! Could not have happened to a better person!

I am a little sad though because they are getting married during their vacation in South America, and although they want us to come, I think that may be an impossibility. They are getting married on a wednesday and FH will just be a month into the police academy and I will be in grad school and practicum...plus I don't know how we could ever afford to go to South America for a day w/ how costly this wedding is becomming.

I really wanted to be there...he is one of my best friends and FH's best friend. Is that terrible that we can't be there? I feel like the worst friend ever!

I agree, that is far away. One of my best friends told me she was getting married in 1 month, and I couldn't make the wedding. She understood, but I was part of everything else.

P.S. Are you doing your practicum in counseling?

No, in Speech Pathology. Attendance is really crucial on the graduate level...if I'm not there clients do not get therapy. I am actually going to have to miss sessions (during the summer practicum) for my own wedding. I just spoke to him (our best man). I called to congratulate him, he did not seem to happy about the possiblity that we would not be able to make it...which made me feel worse. I spoke with his fiancee who seemed a lot more understanding about it (since her own brother wouldn't be comming just based on the flying aspect). I hope eventually he will understand...

BTW: It's in Antigua (not South America). I was looking at pictures and drooling...it looks so pretty! Would definitely be nice to go..

what possesed them to get married in antiqua!!! im sure the bm will understand completly! i would have a special dinner with them, since hes really close to fh.

I think that they will understand-especially with only months notice and the knowledge that you are planning your wedding. I do think and agree that maybe when they get back do something for them
