Re: Marriage License question
It's forty dollars, you need your birth certificate and license... If you go to 'Planning' on LIW and then 'Marriage Licenses' it will give you a list of the places you can go.

We went to Hempstead. very quick and easy. I am not sure of the documents and fees but it is on the Town Of Hempsted town clerk web page.

Re: Marriage License question
We also went to the town of Hempstead. We gave our drivers license and passport. A birth certificate would have been ok too. We paid $40 with a personal check--you can also pay with cash or money order. We were there about 45 mins. It would have been quicker except they were having printer problems. I would suggest goin early in the day if possible-looked like they were getting pretty busy as we were leaving at 9am.Good Luck!

Re: Marriage License question
For some reason, each office in NY has different requirements for IDs and the type of payment they accept. Call the clerk's office of the place you plan to go beforehand to find out exactly what you need to bring.

Re: Marriage License question
Do NOT go to Queens- it takes forever- two hours waiting outside with criminals waiting on the line next to you for arrangement. It was horrible.Plus there is up to an 8 week wait to get it BACK! The woman I called to get mine finally proceessed said if I didn't reach her it was in a pile to get processed in OCT!
