Attn: All Summer brides
I'm starting to feel as if I may have made a mistake with the bridesmaids dresses. Is it appropriate to have bm's wear long dresses for a summer wedding? At first I was like, if I can wear a long gown then they can and it's okay. But now, I don't know anymore. Is anyone else having their girls wear long dresses?

My girls will be wearing long gowns, its an evening wedding and I wanted a more formal feel. I think long dresses will be fine.

I've also worn long dresses as a BM-not a big deal...then again, I am using a lot of red in my summer wedding!IMO-do what you want!

Re: Attn: All Summer brides
Have the girls try on both styles and then decide which one you like better. I think it all depends on the body shape and how each girls looks in them. I like the dress that you posted. If your worried about them being comfortable, then try and go with a lighter material.

Re: Attn: All Summer brides
When we went dress shopping one of my bridesmaid tried on a tea length dress and it looked horrible on her. That's why I decided on the long dresses. On the bright side, atleast they don't have to worry about shaving, lol, j.k.

Re: Attn: All Summer brides
I'm actually a late spring, but this year it was hot in June. My girls are wearing long dresses, it's an evening affair and I want it to be formal. There's nothing wrong with tea length, but full-length is my personal preference.

Re: Attn: All Summer brides
Yes! My girls are wearing long black strapless gowns!!!! I didn't want my girls to feel uncomfortable in tea length and I just think long dresses are elegant!

Thanks for making me feel better. I've been second guessing myself too much lately. It will be in the evening, so I guess its appropriate. Thanks girls! I've nixed this issue

Re: Attn: All Summer brides
Still in the process of picking out dresses but I do know that since it's a June wedding, my girls will be in tea or cocktail dresses unless I found a long one that cries 'I'm it' then it would HAVE to be Chiffon, Nu-Georgette, Organza or any other light fabric not to mention being able to walk/dance around comfortably in and be able to sit well too.Besides, not a fan of how wrinkled satin gets and that does not come across well in pics.

Re: Attn: All Summer brides
I'm staying away from teas b/c I think they're too informal for a night wedding. I want my BMs to stand out as BMs, and IMO, you can't pull it off so well w/ a tea length!
