my OOT gift bags have handles

would you tie something around the handles to close them up? if so, what would would you use?

or would you leave them open?

Re: OOT gift bag question

The only reason I would think to close them up would be when they are at the hotel behind the counter.... if they fall over.....what will fall out? but if they stand on their own...then I would probably leave them undone.

Re: OOT gift bag question

are you the one doing the leaf theme? If so I saw these skeleton leaves and thought they would be cute.

the overall theme is Fall. those leaves are nice, but how would I use them to close up the bags?

I would either put them on paper or just with a ribbon like they had in the picture.

Re: OOT gift bag question

Because you're leaving at the hotel and you don't want anyone opening them I suggest buying self-stick Velcro Strips or dots and putting them inside the bag (on each side) and closing it that way (I found this site just for the picture, but Michael's sells them in white or you could buy velcro at a fabric store and cut them yourself and attach)...then I would tie with a pretty ribbon!
I used blue gift bags with satin ribbon tied tightly at the handles for my kiddie bags (with coloring books, crayons, toy inside) and they were a huge hit.
It doesn't have to be leave themed ribbon, you could use a solid color (in satin!) that plays off the bags...so if the bags are brown, use a mustard or red...if they're white use brown, etc.

Hope this helps!

You're welcome! If the dots don't work for you, look for clear self-adhesive snaps (same purpose) they're like little buttons that snap onto each other...but I think the snaps are easier to open/close...Michael's should have both!
