Question about having a gap between wedding and honeymoon
We're getting married on October 29, but are deciding between two cruises that leave on November 11 and November 18. We've already decided to take off from work two days after our wedding, but do you think it will be weird to go to work for two or three weeks and then leave on the honeymoon? My fiance is worried that it won't feel like a honeymoon, but 'just' a vacation.

Re: Question about having a gap between wedding and honeymoon
Honestly, I agree with your fiance. We had the option of getting married earlier and taking our HM about 3 months after our wedding, but we chose to get married later (by 4 months) and take our HM immediately after. If finances permit, I think that is ideal to take the HM right after the wedding, but the keys are time and money. (As always, right.) good luck

Re: Question about having a gap between wedding and honeymoon
A lot of people who have had a gap will tell you how great it is. After all the excitement of the wedding, you still have a great trip to look forward too. And for the most part, the first day or so of your HM is usually spent recouperating from all the emotion of the wedding anyway. So if you do postpone the trip, you'll have time to relax at home and be ready to party/tour/whatever on the cruise.

Re: Question about having a gap between wedding and honeymoon
we will be having about three days between and we are happy with that! More time to spend with OOT guests and sleep! I am not sure I would want it to be much longer than that!

Re: Question about having a gap between wedding and honeymoon
Our HM is a month after the wedding. FH could only get off in January, but we wanted a Christmas wedding. It doesn't bother me at all. It gives us something to look forward to after the wedding. And we don't have to worry about getting up early the next day.

IMO its better to have some time to settle down before honeymoon.

Re: Question about having a gap between wedding and honeymoon
b/c of my job, we have to wait a little over a month. At first I was upset, but now I like that I get to 'wind down' and still have something to look forward to.Either way, it's a honeymoon, so it will be great!

Re: Question about having a gap between wedding and honeymoon
I don't think it is a bad thing at all! It will give you something to look forward to after the wedding...We are getting married 3/31/06 & will not be leaving for our HM until 4/6/05. I am glad to have the gap so I can spend time w/OOT guests & get things in order before leaving...Welcome New Vendors
