I'm fuming as I write this...i just need to know if i am alone in being annoyed.

i had made an appt to start looking for wedding gowns with a certain bridal salon on li - name is not revelant, but its a very reputable salon that comes highly recommeneded. So, I made the appt last month for tomorrow, but had to re-schedule b/c something came up, so i called them last week to reschedule for saturday, sept 3rd. last night, i get a message from them saying that the owner of the salon has decided to close that saturday due to lack of business. w t f!!!!! seriously. and they want me to call them back to reschedule. how do they close on a saturday in september!!! and no, its not b/c of the holiday, she clearly said we are closing b/c they are not enough clients coming in that day.

so, no business from me. not a gown for me, my mom, my fmil, or my 5 bm's and 1 fg.

if you disagree with my outrage, please tell me why, b/c my head is still spinning and i want others opinions.

Honestly, it would really irritate me but I would just make an appointment with a different store. There are tons of shops out there, they chose to not get your business.

Oh I would be irate BUT I would take it as God telling me...this is not the place for me to get my dress. I mean if they need to close on days just because they aren't getting business I would be worried!!

I would definately be fuming, but it's their loss. I would make it a point to call them and tell them that you won't be going there at all since they can't keep the appointment.

Upset? Maybe but sure as heck a great indication they don't deserve your money. Good thing you found out about it ahead of time!

That's labor Day weekend. So I would guess the are closing for a long weekend. That would be why they said it would be slow and a waste of time to open. Maybe the person who made the appt. for you didn t know they would be closed.
Yes I would be very angry after getting all the girls together and mom, MIL.

not sure if it would bother me.....was the appointment for the whole bridal party? if so, that could be their entire afternoon. if it was just for you, well, they did give you a weeks notice that they want to change. if you want to see how accommodating they are, call back and tell them that is your only date in the area and you cannot do any other date--see what they do! if they then decide to open for you, they are ok!

I think I would just reschedule. Sometimes the shops close up for Sundays in the summer - which always seemed strange to me.

I drove to that mary's corset in woodbury, and when I go there, there was a sign on the door that would be closed for a month. In that case I took by business else where - but I didn't take it personally.

if its a good salon - I would shake it off, and go anyway. Dress shopping is a blast!

I posted I would also be angry and I would be, but I just reread your post and you re-scheduled todays appt. and now they have to re-schedule. Whats the difference.
You couldn t make it today, they might have blocked you in for a few hours and turned someone else away than you had to re-schedule.
Since you also had to cancel I don't see the big deal and they did give you a more than a weeks notice.
There is no guarantee you are going to buy anything so why would they open for just 1 appt.
