when is your florist asking for final pymt?

My florist is asking for final pymt when I see my sample cp. Is this normal?

my florist wants the final payment when she delivers the flowers to the hall. but I think I will ask her if I can mail her a check a week or 2 before. we have enough vendors to pay off the day of the wedding. I really want to try and pay off a few before... for practical reasons.

Final payment was done 1 week prior, when we confirmed everything (# of centerpieces, etc)
