I didn't want to do it -- mostly b/c there will only be 3 or 4 single women at the wedding and none of them want to do. Personally I'll miss the 'action shot' of tossing the bouquet. But I will not miss the garter thing -- never liked it.

We're doing the Anniversary Dance instead and we're having 'She's No Lady' (Lyle Lovett) played for fun.

I'm doing it because of the delight I get out of other's embarassment. It's funny to me, but it's at other people's expense. We have a lot of singles at the wedding! It will be fun!

no - I've never liked it - except for this one time when about 4 of us had to go up there and the bouquet hit the floor and we all spontaneously walked back to our seats and left it there, figuring that someone else would take it. the bride was pretty mad about that - but I thought it was funny.

we did the tosses, but we did not do the traditional garter on the girl's leg who caught the bo-k.

Instead the girl who caught the bo-k danced with DH and the man (boy in my case...it was DH's nephew) who caught the garter got to dance with me. And we invited all people to come up and catch, not just singles, because we only had ONE single person. The married folks ran up to participate. It was a hoot!

thanks. our guests did too! Both DH and I really wanted to do the toss, but did not want to the the traditional garter on girl afterwards. And we only had one person, so we just tried to come up with something that involved all our guests, instead of singling anyone out. it worked out really good!
