Repost: PLEASE HELP! Need votive placecard template
Hi Ladies,I am so stressed and freaking out I don't know what to do.
I have all of my candles, but I can not find a template anywhere that has the curve in it to print my placecards. I know some people found the vellum already with the curve in it, but I've look at Michael's here in MI, and in NY, and one of my BM has gone to several in NY as well and we can't find it.

Does anyone have a template they are willing to share or tips on how to do this? PLEASE!
This whole thing is keeping me awake at night stressing.
TIA!

I didn't use a template.I created all the names in photoshop, and then printed them out on to the vellum.
I used a template for the cutting though. First I cut a piece of paper that fit perfectly around the votive, then I traced that on to a piece of cardboard, and cut the cardboard out, and used that to cut the rest of the sheets of vellum with the names on it.

Re: Repost: PLEASE HELP! Need votive placecard template
thanks for the tips ladies...I've heard all of these people mention templates, and dealing with the 'curve' of the glass, so I was being really paranoid that if I did it without the curve that it would look really bad.Did you use vellum tape, or just regular double sided tape?
ETA: I knew I could count on your 05er's for help. I can't seem to get much on the BHB board. You girls are awesome!

I used vellum tape and HIGHLY recommend it. You can barely see it there.

It depends on where you bought your holders. I have a template that I will be more than happy to share if you got yours at the same place. As for the tape, I found that vellum tape is expensive and used double stick. They are still holding together to this day.

Re: Repost: PLEASE HELP! Need votive placecard template
if you have the 2' votives, they do sell pre-made template (with hearts I think) at michael's. I purchased larger votives (3.5') so those just didn't work for me.As for the curve of the glass. For me and my votives, the cutting of the paper into a curve was most important, rather than having the text on the paper be in a curve. if that makes sense.
I tried everything to get mine to stick. I found the vellum tape looked funny with my vellum. It made the spot with the tape on it look dirty. I then moved to double sided tape but I didn't like how that looked. So I had this BRILLIANT *cough cough* idea to use hot glue. While this worked really nicely, once you lit the candle inside and the glass started to get warm, the 'hot' glue started to become soft and the vellum separated. (found this out after doing ALL of them!) That was such a FUN experience to deal with 3 days before my wedding! NOT! So don't use hot glue heheheeh
I ended up taking a piece of regular scotch tape, and going right over the original hot glue seam. At that point, I just didn't care and wanted them to be done!!!
so, the moral of this story - whatever you do - DO NOT USE HOT GLUE!
(at least I can laugh about this now)
