Invited to Shower, but not OOT wedding-is it ok?
I live in FL, but my wedding will be in NY. We're planning on having a small wedding with just family. Is it ok to invite people to my shower in FL that will not be invited to the wedding? It most circumstances if we were doing the wedding in the same place I wouldn't even think of not inviting some of these people, but I really don't expect them to fly to NY for a small brunch wedding, which is why we limited it to family and just one or two friends each.

Instead of calling it a shower, why not call it a pre-wedding celebrating/reception for the people you don't want to inconveniance with the trip to NY. This way you look like the thoughtful bride and no one feels excluded.

it depends.
my shower was in OH where FH is from. my FMIL invited her friends who are not invited to the wedding, but she asked them first.... they said they wanted to come to the shower.
