My crazy family...

Warning: This is gonna be long!

Ok, in August I had my shower and my Aunt and female Cousin, Wendy, came from VA. My male cousin, Ted and his wife also came from VA. They stayed at separate houses because my Aunt is always causing trouble and does not like my cousins wife.

So, after the shower was over, all the men came to help. My cousin Ted and FH were both hungry so we said, let's catch up and go to dinner since we are the same age and have a lot in common.

So my single cousin Wendy, instead of asking if she can come along, caused a scene back at my house and locked herself in the bathroom and would not talk to anyone...guess how old she is?! 22!

So she left her Mom, my Aunt, to fight her battle. Who proceeded to scream at me and my cousin for not treating her well. Since she locked herself upstairs, we went to dinner without her. We were literally gone for 90 minutes max.

By the time we got back, my Aunt and Cousin had left the house, snuck out the front door and never thanked my parents for anything.

Needless to say, our families haven't spoken since. Over something my parents and I think are so stupid. Well, my Ted and his wife left and they were pissed at them too. Now I hear from my Aunt in CA that they are all speaking again and badmouthing us.

My cousin and his wife are still coming to the wedding but got my Aunts response today that they are not. They are the only family I have, ours is very small.

I am hurt that they are going to ditch my wedding over something we didn't even do. If my cousin asked, we would have said yes. Instead, she locked herself away and had her Mom scream at us and ruin the rest of my shower day. I'm not wrong here I am I? I want to apologize so they will come...but I don't think it's my fault!

Wow, I am so sorry about that drama! I would not apologize for two reasons:

1. it wasnt your fault

2. by accomodating that ridiculous behavior, you are inviting them to make a scene at your wedding.

i'd just leave them alone.
