So girls... I got a STD in the mail...
With two cards that have the bride and groom's registry listed! Boy people seem to get more and more forward And that's really getting a jump on things too!

Re: So girls... I got a STD in the mail...
Wow, I guess Im the out cast here- whats the difference between sending the registry info with the STD and having your website printed on the STD and having your registry info on that??????????
I think it all depends on timing too, for instance I got engaged and married within 7 months, family members were hounding me where am I registered b/c they wanted to send an engagement gift which of course said is not necessary but of course DH family surprised us with a mini engagement party of just his side, and I had a TON of OOTer's too, so by the time I got my hall, church, blocked rooms it was now 5 months till my wedding so YES I included the registry, and hotel info with my STD's and didnt think it was Tacky or Inappropiate at all. My mother and the girls did my shower and it was a suprise and it was about 7 weeks before my wedding and I had guest tell me they were happy I sent the registry out early enough to give them time to get gifts knowing the shortness of time and a lot couldnt make the shower mailed the gifts to my mothers house too well in advance!

Re: So girls... I got a STD in the mail...
the etiquette rules are as follows:
No gift information should be included with your wedding invitations. Tell your wedding party, parents, and close friends where you are registered, and let them fill guests in. Guests know that they are supposed to ask your mom, your maid of honor, or even you where you're registered. Putting it in the invite is still considered bad form because it suggests that the gift is more important than the potential guest.
