NWR..BUT can anyone help me with a cute theme

for a 30th birthday party? i dont want to do the same old 30 decorations..i guess we can do a little of that..but i want to be creative and im so not ..any suggestions?

Thats what my parents did for me, I was born 1970 so it was a 70's theme party and you had to see some of the costumes it was hilarious!!!!! My DH will be 30 next yr and I have the same dilema- I dont want to do the same thing 70's thing- He wants a Robpalooza party!

these are good...anything else? i think fbil wants to keep it simple but he doesnt know what to decorate the house with...is there anything besides the typical happy birthday banners? thanks

Hmmm well I know if we do go by what DH wants his very own Robapalooza ( from the movie Old School) I will have banners made for him- I have to check out exaclty what that party entailed- if I know DH its trouble, lol.
lets see in the 70's, you can do a disco theme, hippie theme, or have guest wear a piece of clothing of the birhtday persons favorite color and have drinks to match, try to find out what the birthday person liked as a kid lets say favorite candy, TV show and find some items to decorate the house with that( ebay would be good to find things from the past), I will try to think of more and post since Im in the same boat!

well its a she..and i know she loves gerbera daisies...so i will def at least try and buy her a boquet of them..(if they still have them available)i dont knwo...this is next week leave it up to me to wait til the last minute.

I was thinking, making it like a big tail gating party...deep fried stuff (poppers, mozzerella sticks), BBQ, hero sandwiches, football cake, bottled beers...Not goodie bags with football teams on them...

What about a wine and cheese party....different kinds of wines set up in stations around the house, various cheeses with fruit, crudite...and gerber daises as decor....
Instead of b-day party supplies (plates, napkins, etc), you can just buy floral patterns...
And then get her favorite kind of cake, like cheesecake or something.

So funny, I'm throwing FH a surprise 30th bday at Shea Stadium this weekend, so it's an all baseball theme.

You can do a sports theme. I got a lot of the regular Happy 30th stuff, but also bought a lot of baseball decorations.

Scratch that, just read that it is a she! Sorry!

No way! As I said in my above post, I'm throwing one for my FH. He lives and breathes sports. granted, it will look like a kid's party b/c the decorations are crazy and all primary colors, but the setting is more adult.

No I think its fine cause its at Shea- very cool by the way- if it was at a house I think it would look kinda kiddie, no? but I like that idea of the wine and cheeses theme with the flowers thats def girly!

We did this as a surprise party for my friend. We all dressed in 70s gear (and we had an outfit for her to change into), we had baby pics on the wall, 70's candy (you can order online) and even her mom wore a maternity dress from when she was pregnant with my friend with a pillow (it was funny).

it was fun.
