North Ritz Club vs. Watermill -- NRC reception seating

Ok, I think I might be down to the final two, but I can't make up my mind!! Has anyone been to BOTH of these places? Any suggestions on which is the better of the two?

Also, anyone that has had their wedding at the NRC...was creating the seating plan difficult because of the set up of the room? You know with the whole brides family on one side and grooms family on the other side tradition...?

Re: North Ritz Club vs. Watermill -- NRC reception seating

both places are very nice.
Sorry to other brides JMO don't mean to offend anyone.
Food at NRC better I think but I didn't like the bathroom downstairs across tile. JMO
Watermill is beautiful however the big room downstairs is a basement no windows.
Good luck both places are great for different reasons...

Re: North Ritz Club vs. Watermill -- NRC reception seating

We went to both and booked NRC only because it was a one affair at a time place and I just thought the day should be just about our day and not mingling with other brides and their guests JMO though, this is what I was looking for. Either would be a great choice in my opinion. Good Luck.

Re: North Ritz Club vs. Watermill -- NRC reception seating

I visited both places when I was looking for a hall. When I looked at NRC it was set up for a wedding. I honestly didn't like the NRC room set up. I think the dance floor is beautiful & the bar is beautiful but the set up in my opinion wasn't for me & the fact that the bathroom wasn't on the same floor wasn't for me either. I also didn't like the set up of the cocktail hour but again JMO. I booked the watermill because I think it is beautiful & the food is amazing. Also although the big room downstairs is in teh basement unless you are having a day wedding it doesn't really matter---nobody is looking out the windows at your wedding. I was just at land's end for a wedding on friday and the fact that they have windows from floor to ceiling really didn't matter when it is nightime. Also if you have the room downstairs you have the whole downstairs nobody else will be bothering you. I also think their service can't be beat. Of course this is just my opinon the final decision is up to you. Good luck!

Re: North Ritz Club vs. Watermill -- NRC reception seating

Never been to NRC, but we had our reception in the smaller upstairs ballroom at Watermill. Everything was fabulous. I do not (JMO!) like the room downstairs at Watermill b/c of the beams and lack of windows, but if you have a large group (over 160) then you have no choice. We had about 150.

Re: North Ritz Club vs. Watermill -- NRC reception seating

I have been to weddings at both... JMO I Like the NRC MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER....

I didn't like that you were in the basement in the Watermill... I felt that the food wasn't as good as NRC... also... The Venetian hour at NRC is out of control!

Good Luck choosing!

Re: North Ritz Club vs. Watermill -- NRC reception seating

I looked at both places and preferred the Watermill (booked it). I am getting married there and the grounds are absolutely beautiful which was a huge plus for me.
Also, the food is outrageous and I've heard nothing but great things about the service.
Didn't care for the reception room at NRC.
Good luck!!

Re: North Ritz Club vs. Watermill -- NRC reception seating

I never went to NRC but I booked my wedding reception at the Watermill (Astor Suite - Upstairs).

You should go with your gut instinct. Good Luck!
