I've worked out in the gym at my job during my lunch break before and then took a shower. It became a hassle so now I work out in my apartment complex's gym after work

Re: NWR - gym @ work
We have a gym here but unfortunately, there's a ridiculous waitlist for it...I think you can only become a member now if you have a doctor's note. That being said, I go to the gym during my lunch hour all the time. I go to NYSC, the one in Grand Central usually around 2pm (missing the lunch crowd.) I work out for approximately 40 minutes, hop in the shower, and get back to work.
If you don't like to shower in public places and feel uncomfortable, then I would skip the lunch hour routine and go after work and then shower at home.
Personally, some gym locker rooms are intimidating with women walking around buck naked, but I've gotten past that stage where I even care. I embrace my cellulite and large arse. But we're all different, some shy more than others.

I WISH I had a free gym here. You'll get over the uncomfortableness. It would save me $95 a month and I it would be convenant, I would not have to drag my gym bag in and out of the city every day

We have one in our building that I'm going to start using instead of driving to the gym after work, it's so much more convenient and so much cheaper...FREE!!!

I work in a physical therapy facility- we have free use of all of the equipment any time the facility is open. I've only used it once, and i was uncomfortable running on the treadmill in front of coworkers.

We have a gym in our main building that only the top management can use for free.We have two membership programs, Equinox and NYSC. I go to NYSC and pay a ridiculous amt of money. I would get over my naked sweaty smelly inhibitions for a free membership.

Re: NWR - gym @ work
I would LOVE it if we had the gym at the job. I wouldnt care about the sweat at all...I do work out during lunchtime as well at the NYSC 2 mins from my job...30 minutes on the treadmill, 15 mins of weight training, 5 minute shower, 5 minutes getting dressed and ready...2 minute walk to work...I eat my lunch at my desk.

if I could workout and re-shower / get ready in an hour it would be a miracle - how do you girls do it?

Work out for 35 minutes, get ready in 10 minutes, and head back.
As far as showering and getting ready - it's not too bad but requires a lot of discipline. Most of the time, I jump in the shower, wash, get out, and go back to work with a wet head...who cares!

basically get in and get out. I only do it if I can't go after work...just do a hard core cardio routine for at least 20-30 minutes...then jump in the shower...this is not a real shower mind you- just a jump under the water to wash the sweat away shower...no shampoo commercials are created in this process!
if my office had a free gym, I would definitely go. the only other people you will see there are people also using the gym..no bigg...if they don't offer shower facilities or you just don't want to use them. take what my grandfather calls a wh0re's bath...take a towel or wash cloth, wet it with water wipe yourself down in the bathroom. there are also many wipes and stuff out there. fitness magazine actually has an article this month about looking presentable post workout.

yeah - we do have showers (i just purcahsed the wall soap dispensers for both the men's and women's showers - they will have shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel) - but now to add to my dislike of the situation i realized - i have never showered in a public shower!!! (stayed home for college)
where do you get towels?? and then what do you do with them when they are all wet? just shove them in your gym bag???
i am not socially inept - i just don't understand it. HELP!!
