To Concerned Sept. Brides, re: Yanks v. Mets
Just wanted to try to ease some minds...the World Series won`t start until something like the second week in October, so those of us getting married in Sept. won`t have to worry about the Yanks v. Mets. Both the Yanks and Mets will play their last regular season game on Sunday, Sept. 30. Yanks at home, Mets away in Atlanta. So, unless these teams are skirting elimination from the playoffs, I think anyone with a late Sept. wedding should be fine. Schedules can be found on http://www.mlb.com While I do think it is rude that some people seem more interested in these sporting events than the people who have just gotten married, I`ve known of people not going to family member`s weddings to stay at home and watch games on tv!

To Concerned Sept. Brides- Sept 30 is my day!
Oh no! They will be trying to watch it to see if they are in the World Series! I almost hate to say (especially as a baseball fan) that I hope they both lose this year and dont make it.. Selfish I know...Thank you Kel, I do feel better now.

Sept. 30 - Last Day, Last Chance
Leyann, Maybe I`m a little biased, but if anything, maybe only the Mets fans will have to be watching on the last day of the regular season. By that point, most of the teams should have either secured a spot in the playoffs, or been solidly knocked out with no chance. But sometimes, you do have teams that go right down to the very last game before anyone knows if they`ll make it in or not. And the Mets are just that type of team ... giving their fans constant anxious moments. You probably won`t have to worry about the Yankee fans, cuz their team will almost certainly be a lock for the playoffs well before the last game of the regular season. Relax!! :)

Sept. 30 - Last Day, Last Chance
I am getting married Sept 23 2001 and picked that date to make sure that I would be able to see the end of the season Yankee games. I read a story in Newsday last year about a couple whose wedding was scheduled during one of the Subway Series games last year. Rather than risk having people stay home to watch the game, they rented a huge projection TV and had it in the catering hall. They made sure their guests knew that it would be there and everyone showed!!! If I remember correctly the bride was a Yankee fan and the groom a Mets fan and they watched the game too. Talk about a wedding to remember!!!Welcome New Vendors
