BEWARE of valets! Posted in BHB also

My wedding on Saturday was magnificent. Unfortunately, after the wedding I found out my guests were robbed. So far 4 of my guests have lost hundreds collectively and one guest's car whose gas mysteriously was lower lost its transmission on the way home!

A police report was filed and I am afraid more of my guests will be finding out their belongings are missing.

valet can be very tricky, we went to a friend's wedding at East Wind and a couple of stuff was missing from our car. My FH co-worker was also missing things that same night

oh thats terrible. Thanks for passing it on. I didnt use valet because it seemed like it caused more traffic the way my hall was set up.

hundreds left in cash hidden in wallets too big to fit in weddingsized purses; the ruined transmission I'm not sure yet. It's in the shop as we speak...

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!! that's TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!

ETA: I have heard of this happening at weddings since they know you'll be occupied for at least 4-5 hours. I HATE valet parking and will do anything to avoid it.

UGH! that stinks!!! thats why i don't like valet parking- i really don't see the ' prestige' in it.... and so many of the people working are younger and a little bit immature.... a dfew years ago, DH and i went to a college graduation party that had valet (yup- her parents are loaded!!) and DH has a Hummer- the big H1, and he didn't want them to valet park it, but they refused to let him park it himself... he went out a couple times to get something out of it and it was in different spots, and the kids working didn't know how to lock it, so it turned out it was unlocked the whole night... not cool... i'd rather walk the few feet from teh parking lot to the door....

good point! what is the 'luxury' in handing your car keys, worth thousands of $$ to a total stranger? I would rather walk a few extra feet than have to do that.

I valet my car all the time, with that said- I would never leave anything of value in the car

I have never had anything taken, even in the city- but you do have to be careful

I would never leave more then change in the car- even when I park it myself- you never know
