Re: French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc.) Honeymoons!!!!!!

When i spoke with the interconnitnental last night they said that since we were ambassadors they noted the account for a room upgrade. so i asked would they have the next level of rooms available for the upgrade and they said they have to leave 8% of there rooms open for ambassdors. when i get home tonight i could list the stuff from they package they mailed us. Also we got a voutcher for a night free at any intercontineltal which we are using for the honeymoon.

hope this helps

So I am busily trying to pack up my life for our HM to Tahiti in 5 days!............ It is so overwhelming, and so exciting at the same time!... I am definately over the 50 lb limit!!!!

Those who have already been there, how much cash did you bring with you? Can you pay for mostly everything, including the excursions by credit card? How much do you recommend we bring with us? Thanks!

you're welcome! i'll try to post more later on.

i really didn't want to stay in one island for more than a day. i get very bored. although i love laying by a pool, i love that i visited 9 islands in 15 days. it was an amazing experience. i had no desire to stay in an overwater bungalow. friends that we met on the cruise, who had stayed in an overwater bungalow in a different hotel, had cockroaches, lots of water noise and TONS of mosquitoes!!! we didn't have any of that--i don't remember what hotel it was, but i remember they said it was gorgeous. if you're staying in a bungalow, definitely bring bug spray!

tahiti and bora bora are the most well known--i had never heard of moorea before my trip! papeete (the capital of tahiti) it a big port and the main airport.

i hope you ladies have as great of a time as i did! someone had FMed me and asked me to do a review, but i never really looked at this thread before. i might of at the beginning, but i haven't been following along with the discussion.

have a great time ladies! bring spf 30-45 AT LEAST because the sun is strong!

I know Tahiti is popular....but I just meant the point of Tahiti is just to fly in and out of there. No one spends more than 1 - 2 nights tops there.
It's certainly not "the place to stay" or anything.

Im staying in Tahiti Papette for 4 nts.. 2 nts coming and 2 nts before we elave. I know alot of ppl dont do this but there some stuff we want to do while we are there.

We didn't get ours in Moorea (even though there were a few really good artists they recommended) just because we wanted to get them at the very end of our trip. We didn't want to have to worry about how long we can be in the water, being in the sun, etc... We LOVE our tattoos from Fati (on bora bora). He was recommended by our resort and he was great to work with. Can't recommend him enough.

We are staying two nights before and after also.

I figured we would be spend two days there so we are rested and acclimated to the time difference and plane ride.

We brought 600USD, and needed to pull out an additional 200. The ATM's in Maharepa did not work, so we had to get it from out hotel.

i would recommend travelers checks, you can exchange them for CFP, safer than carrying cash. Not that I think you'll get robbed, but if you lose it, travelers checks are replaceable.

We brought 500USD and didnt use it all. We used our credit card for absolutely everything. it was well worth it and we got a great exchange rate. we paid for dinners, gifts, and all of our excursions with our credit card.
