Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

It just seems like so much extra money to spend. I know there are other options that are less expensive but equally as classy.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

You could create a centerpiece with candles by buying the materials at AC Moore or Michaels..

I have seen posts where people did that and it was beautiful!

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

Of course you could make your own, but if you go with something simple, floral CP can be affordable.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

We aren't doing floral centerpieces. We are doing votive candles and a little winter theme with snowflakes and fake snow.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

We are not using floral center pieces. I am making my own using candles and fall foliage leaves that I am going to get at Michaels. You can create some beautiful pieces that don't have flowers and cost a fraction to the price.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

Ive seen several cp's that were not candles.
One was a simple bowl filled with water with 2 or 3 floating candles. It was very nice.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

Here are pictures of the centerpiece i am trying to do. The first ones are on a round mirror the next bunch are on a rectangular mirror. I was at the Foxhollow last week and the tables are oval so if i do the round there isn't much room for people sitting on either side of it. What do you think?

oops, i hit it w/out adding pics.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

A couple of things to explain:
The reason for white and cream candles was a mistake when i bought more candles. The white underneath the last ones was b/c i didn't undo the wrapping b/c i wasn't sure if i needed to return it.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

I'm still not sure if we're doing CP's or not. I'm doing a whole rose theme to my wedding and I may just do an array of votive candles in different sizes on each table and sprinkle rose petals all over.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

My MOH had these centerpieces for her shower. She bought the candles and the glass hurricane vase at Target, and she bought dozens of roses at Costco!

People were fighting over them & I thought they looked beautiful!!!

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

we bought silver Mikasa christmas trees with tea lights for our centerpieces. They were $20 each, and after I'm done sprucing them up, they'll come to less than $30 each. Still cheaper than a floral centerpiece for 20 tables i think.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

We are doing these, with votives all the way around and probably rose petals. All together it cost less than $30 a piece.

Re: Anyone not doing floral centerpieces?

A friend did this at her wedding...it looks a little messy in this pic, but when we walked in, it was really nice - all b/w pics back to back in this photo tree. All pics were of only guests sitting at that table. Flowers were never missed.
