Fake Flowers/Wreath centerpieces

Do you think I could use fake flowers/wreaths for centerpieces if they're dressed up nicely?
I don't know if I could afford real ones.
Is it tacky to do that? Honest opinions please!

that's not tacky at all! IMO

you could also add candles for a romantic effect. candles are always nice at a wedding

Re: Fake Flowers/Wreath centerpieces

Thanks..Ive seen some nice ones but wasn't sure if it was a good idea. I would still use real ones for the bouquets and the ceromy but thought maybe I would use something different for the reception to save some money.

Re: Fake Flowers/Wreath centerpieces

I went to a wedding that had silk flowers as the centerpieces in glass vases. looked beatiful! NOt sure if it was less expensive than real flowers.

Re: Fake Flowers/Wreath centerpieces

I think it could be done and that it would look great!!! I was thinking about doing something like this for my cocktail hour tables b/c my florist wanted an insane amount of money (~$10 / TABLE!) to do something on them!

Good luck and keep us updated if you find something that works!!!

Re: Fake Flowers/Wreath centerpieces

A lot of people choose silk flowers instead because they don't die and can look just as nice. I have seen some really nice silk flower arrangements at florists. Not sure about what the price difference is. Lots of luck! You can also, as some one else mentioned, incorporate candles or just have candle centerpieces. I was considering this and priced it. I went to Michaels and it would have cost me about $15 per table for floating candle centerpieces.

Re: Fake Flowers/Wreath centerpieces

I may just do candles afterall.
My dad has paid for everything so far and I'm afraid to tell him what a florist is gonna cost!
Thanks for the advice!

Re: Fake Flowers/Wreath centerpieces

If fresh flowers are not in your budget, then yes, i would go with silk. You can get or make really nice ones, and guests could keep them forever - not just a couple days. I made this wreath to hang at the reception. I bought all the supplies from Michael's and Patchogue Fantasyland.
