Re: Day of wedding coordinator
Is it necessary - nothing is a 'HAVE TO'....We're getting one b/c of the very reasonable price that our DOC offers and for PIECE OF MIND.
A DOC handles everything on the day of the wedding - organizaing all the vendors, dealing with any vendor problems that may come up, dong the small things like reminding you to reapply your lipstick, making sure the photographer takes all the shots you need, making sure that everyone is where they should be when they should be, reviewing your contracts, handeling final payments on the day of, lighting up candles, things like that...the list goes on and on.
The DOC basically handles everything you shouldn't have to on your day of and allows you to enjoy the day completely. I know most brides delegate a family member - mom, sister, MOH to take care of these little things, so that's always an option. However, we wanted someone from outside to handle these things so that everyone could enjoy the day.
If you need any other info - contact me.

Re: Day of wedding coordinator
We've booked a DOC as well - it has already given me piece of mind. She is also my makeup artist so she'll be able to touch me up all day.

Re: Day of wedding coordinator
Truthfully for me, I don't think it is necessary. FH & I have planned our entire wedding & honestly I didn't want someone else taking over for the day...I am a very organized person plus I want to be in complete control of my day! So I think it is all about preference..As some girls mentioned, if you want peace of mind the day of, then hire one (if money allows) but if you don't mind doing all the dealing, then save the money for something else

Re: Day of wedding coordinator
I booked a DOC as well. I think that for the price it is worth it. I am very organized as well, but any amount of organization cant prevent mishaps and emergenices either. The DOC will be there to deal with those things.

Re: Day of wedding coordinator
It's not a must have, but I am happy that I will have someone to handle anything that may come up on the day of.I've noticed that most brides that have had a DOC never regret having had one.
