Friend's Wedding Issue

OK so originally I was planning to defer my HM so I could attend a friend's wedding (2 weeks after mine in Maine), but over the last couple months I have decided that I will be missing the wedding instead (I feel bad, but it is my HM after all and they knew my date and that I wanted a 2 week HM).

So anyway, I know that these friends have a tight # of guests they are planning to invite and have been working to cut out people. I want to let them know that I will not be able to go to their wedding (so they can invite someone else in place of FH and me), but I'm not sure what to say. What do you think?

Re: Friend's Wedding Issue

I think if you just explain to them that you are going to be away for 2 weeks on your HM and that you won't be able to attend their wedding, they should understand (especially since they knew the date of your wedding when they booked theirs).

Re: Friend's Wedding Issue

Yeah - I guess the best thing to do is to just be honest. I feel so badly though, but hopefully she will understand. I really would LOVE to go to their wedding, but I just can't imagine cutting our HM short (with the time change from Hawaii it would be cut way short!) or going back to work for two weeks. Thanks guys!

Re: Friend's Wedding Issue

I agree, just tell her the truth, if she cant understand that you will be on your honymoon then she is crazy.
