Does anyone feel overwhelmed by gift giving?
It seems that every month I get bombarded with birthdays, births, communions, baptisms, graduations, retirements........I'm constantly buying gifts!!!!
Now, I love to give gifts, but this is getting ridiculous!

Re: Does anyone feel overwhelmed by gift giving?
I feel it comes in spurts...Like we're either buying a hundred gifts in one week or none for 6 months...

OMG I hear you! This year I've had 7 weddings, 2 christenings, 7 bridal showers, 4 bachelorette parties, 3 bachelor parties (DH did), 2 baby showers and numerous other things.I've had 3 wedding alone in the past three weeks. I'm so done!

Re: Does anyone feel overwhelmed by gift giving?
Yeah, it gets tiresome. Especially when people start to feel entitled to a gift for every darn thing.

Re: Does anyone feel overwhelmed by gift giving?
Yes! I had to make the break with some friends last year--we no longer do birthday & Christmas gifts. Now, that'Im married, I'm excpected to buy gifts for all my aunts , uncles, cousins, etc & now my friends are having babies, so that's plenty of gifts!

I thought I was the only that felt that way. I love giving gifts too. Before I was married I would by gifts for dh and my nieces for no reason and now I can't unfortunately. I have eight nieces and nephews to buy for and Christmas and birthdays. It is really hard on me and my wallet!
I only allow myself to spend $20 on each, it is the thought that counts! I feel like every time I turn around it is someones b-day.

Re: Does anyone feel overwhelmed by gift giving?
We literally have 11 birthdays April-June. It's maddening!!! But that's the only tough time. Otherwise the rest are nicely scattered.

Re: Does anyone feel overwhelmed by gift giving?
YES this drives me insane! Especially since I just acquired 5 school aged nieces and nephews!AND Mothers Day and Fathers Day and my parents birthdays are on after another.
I told DH that this year I am saving my tax return for gifts - as pathetic as that sounds I have to do it!
