Sad and need some hugs

I just got an RSVP back from my 'friend' who moved to GA last year. she's not coming to my wedding.

and even though she told me a while ago that this will probably be the case, to see it in black and white made it hard to swallow.

the part that bothers me the most is that she claims she can't come b/c she has 3 kids and no one to watch them (her husband works weekends) and she can't bring them up to NY to be watched by family because she can't afford it. Meanwhile, her husband just replaced her engagement ring that she 'lost' with a $30K ring. And she just loves telling me all about her new 3 carat ring.

anyhow, I'm just upset. I'll get over it.

**HUGS**.. unfortunately, you find out who your true friends are during wedding time. Their true colors come out. Don't be surprised. I lost my best friend during the wedding process, and I still don't have a reason why. Things happen for a reason, but the show must go on...

I got one of those too, but definitely not one that would say they have no money and then the next minute say they've got a $30K ring! I think what would bother me more is the fact she's not putting two and two together and realizing she is hurting you.

I would just assume that the ring is not fully paid for and that this girl has no $$. Either way, it does not say a lot about her priorities.

Wow I remember reading about this 'friend' and how she made you feel...I can't believe she's not coming.
What was said above is so true, you do find out who your true friends are and who really loves you...it's a sad reality.
Try not to dwell on this too much...she doesn't sound like someone 'worthy' of all your goodness anyway.

i know how u feel. a friend said she couldnt get time off since she would jus be re3turning from vacation. she knew for a yr when the wedding was going to be, she was going to a clay aiken concert which she's been 2 plenty of times

that's not why she is not coming. she claims that it would be too much $ to bring them all up with her.

I totally understand

One of my friends RSVP'd yes and made flight and hotel arrangements and then EMAILED me to say she has to cancel because they may be buying a new house and they need to save their money
