Re: Can you give tips in the form of a check?
yes you can give checks. Just make sure they are payable to cash unless you know the full names of all your vendors ( or their employees)

OH My!! Thank you soo much for this suggestion!! You just made my budget.. We couldn't find the money for the tips, now we can. By the time the checks are deposited, the gifts will already be in the bank.. I can't thank you enough!!

Re: Can you give tips in the form of a check?
I don't see there being a problem. It is a service. You are giving them money in the form of cash right? Since the check will be made out to cash. Now with the new law in place that it doesn't take 3 days for a check to clear, I think it would be fine. Honestly, if it's in a envelop they won't even notice until everything is over anyway.

Re: Can you give tips in the form of a check?
i definitely dont see a problem with it at all. I will probably just have my DOC hand out cash envelopes but checks are totally fine IMO. my FH works for GE and he has gotten tips in the form of a check before. like the other poster said, make sure its made to cash though!

Re: Can you give tips in the form of a check?
Personally, I suggest that you do cash. I know it's a lot to carry around but I think it's appreciated even more for it's convenience to the vendor...especially since some may split it further with people behind the scenes. If you do decide to give checks...I would leave them blank until you aready to hand them over - then go into the bridal suite and write them out. Thank God we brought extra money with us because all of our vendors went above and beyond so we put more into each envelope.

Re: Can you give tips in the form of a check?
I agree with Ang. I think notes are much more appreciated than even a check made out to 'cash'. When I have work done at home the contractor always prefers cash than a check for cash.

Re: Can you give tips in the form of a check?
The more I thought about it the more I fealt that cash is more appropriate..I thought about giving a check for convenience on our part,so we didnt have to carry all that cash around (not becasue we wouldnt have the money for tips). But then I realized that they are spending the entire day with us,,and they dont deserve to have to run around to cash a check..Welcome New Vendors
