I have a guy on my side - any suggestions for pictures, gifts, anything!!?

My best friend from h.s. is a 'bridesman' on my side....so it's 4 girls and one guy. Does anyone have pictures of a guy on the bride's side?? Also, I keep buying gifts for my bm's but am at a loss on what to get him...he is gay, so I did get him a monogrammed compact, cause I know he will like it, but that's it so far :) Any ideas?? TIA!

Kinda sorta similar situation, but not really. I wanted to include my 20 y/o brother and 26 y/o cousin in my wedding, so I made them Ushers - wearing the same tuxes as the guys (maybe different color) and riding in the limos with the BP.

What I'm getting them (all or some)
- shaving kit from 'The Art of Shaving' - (brother) he's hardcore into the 'older' technique of shaving (freaking weird to me but whatever) so they have these gorgeous sets at that store.
- a mini ipod b/c both really wants one (can't understand how they don't have one yet)
- paying for a 6 month gym membership (both)
- Cousin rides a bike, so I'm going to look into customized helmets
- my brother shops at BR so probably throwing in a gift certificate
- both are getting metrocards...corny, but i think they're useful!

wow! those are some amazing gifts for 'ushers'!! what are you getting the bridal party? I need to step it up in the gift department...

My guy cousin who I am close with is in the bridal party. He's a groomsman. Two of FH's cousins are my bridesmaids. We totally just mixed sides. But, the people we mixed were family, and close to the both of us. Is your friend also a friend of your FH's? In that case, I think it would be fine for him to stand with the groomsmen.

Sorry, no gift ideas. I haven't done that part yet.

I had seven attendants on my side of the bridal party, and three of them were 'bridesmen.' If he's close to you, there's no reason he shouldn't stand by your side on your day. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

I'll scan in some pics for you, but in the meantime, I'll tell you what I did for gifts. I got them leather bags with their names on them (embossed, I guess, I don't know the right term for engraving in leather....) from Men's Warehouse and Coach money clips.
We had other male friends singing and reading during the ceremony, and we gave them engraved flasks (also from Men's Warehouse).

I'll try and post pics as soon as I can.

Oh, punk...that's right up my alley! So if you go on ebay, you might be able to find some nice memorabilia from the Ramones, or another classic punk band. I'm having a mind block for other classic bands. FM me if you want more and I'll ask my FH. He got me into it.

oh my gosh, you just gave me the best idea...I am not so sure about the kind of music he likes, but we do have lots of inside jokes about 80's tv shows, 80's movies, etc...I'm going to go on ebay and see if there is anything totally random that I can get him. Thanks again for the ebay idea :)

No problem! I love Ebay for those unique gifts that are hard to find elsewhere. It can be so personal that way!
