Has anyone here push their wedding date back?

Hi all! Just out of curiosity, has anyone else changed their wedding date by a few months? I'm asking because its something we're contemplating. Originally, we were going to have a destination wedding but changed our plans having it here on Long Island. We're thinking of changing the date from March '06 until October/November '06 so that we don't have to rush. I want to enjoy planning my wedding. Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks!

This is a personal decision. If time and money is a factor, i would do it! It is tough to plan a wedding in six months! I have had over a year to do it, and I am feeling the stress!

It is very much a personal decision. We were engaged for 4 years and were originally planning a 2003 wedding...that didn't happen and we put it off until 05. Best thing ever. We grew up, buckled down (saved!) and had the wedding of our dreams.

its what you want..if you want to get married in march then get married in march...i started planning my wedding 2 weeks ago, and only have to book my photographer, i already have everything else including favors..so its totally possible! but if it would make you feel better to have more time then do it in the fall..go with your heart on this one..

We had planned on getting married on Memorial day, but we switched it because we had some issues to figure out. We had a lot of questions from family and friends, etc. The issues were not major or anything like that, just wanted to get it all out of the way before we got married. So, we moved it back. Just be prepared for any questions that might get fired at you, because people will be curious about your reasons for pushing it back. But now I am getting married in 4 days!!!

We actually had to move our date closer to get the Hall we wanted
