Want to have a beach wedding

My fiance and I would like to have our reception on the beach/water. Not too expensive. We were also wondering if beach houses can be rented for a day and we'd have the food catered. Any ideas/reccomendations?

Re: Want to have a beach wedding

I looked into renting a house too, but many only rent for the entire season or a week (and they were $$$$). Some places on the water/beach that aren't SUPER expensive are:

Beach:
The Pavilion at Sunken Meadow (Lessings)

Water/Beach Access:
The Riviera
Giorgios
Snapper Inn (more casual)
Bayview House at Capt Bills
Harbor Club
W Sayville Country Club (water view)

Re: Want to have a beach wedding

Also check out:

Chateau La Mer (lindenhurst)
Bridgeview yacht club (island park)

They are both on the water.

Re: Want to have a beach wedding

I was married on the beach in Montauk and I looked for months for my spot. How many guests do you expect? I had a harder time since I was expecting over 200, but only 175 came. I loved the Ram's Head Inn in Shelter Island the best but I couldn't fit as many as I would have liked. Email me and I'll tell you more. I saw dozens of rental houses and many owners do not want a large gathering on their properties...

Nassau and Western Suffolk. But if a place is worth it than we'll go as far as the two forks.

Atlantica
Land's End

Lessing's The Pavilion at Sunken Meadow (less formal, and the least expensive of the lot)
Gurney's Inn in Montauk

Also on the water (not necessarily a beach present):
Venetian Yacht Club
The Riviera
Chateau La Mer
Harbor Club
Thatched Cottage
Bayview House at Captain Bill's
Snapper Inn (smaller, more casual)

and sands of atlantic beach- u have the whole private beach to take pictures!!

We went to a wedding this summer at the Pavillion in Sunken Meadow Park - it was literally right on the beach - what a great wedding!
