there is a heightened security alert for all NYC subways...there is a press conference imminent, but all the ladies and their loved ones...

No, I just heard it too, apparently there is a threat to the subways via bomb packbacks. They are having a press conference shortly.

it's on CNN right now. the police commisioner and the mayor are about to give a press conference.

with stuff like this, I don't think it's ever a 'big deal out of nothing' we also have to be extra vigilant and careful.

we'll see what the press conference has to say.

The problem is that they can't reveal too much information to the public because it can endanger their source and prevent any future information they might get. But they needed to say something to make us aware. Definitely be more aware of your surroundings in the next few days, but don't let this interfere with your everyday life. They are saying that just the air time this is getting may have deterred any 'plans' for an attack.
