Wedding Invitations and Gift Registry?

How long before your wedding did you order your invitations?

How soon is too soon to start a registry? (Our E-party will probably be Dec of this year but Wedding is Nov 06).

(I didn't want to do 2 different posts for this! )

Thanks!

Re: Wedding Invitations and Gift Registry?

I am ordering my invitations next month so that will be 5 months before my wedding, and I registered over the summer so that was 8-9 months before my wedding

Do you think 1 year before is too soon to register?

You can certainly start registering, but some items may be discontinued - like towels and linens change colors offered depending on the seasons. So you may want to register for neutral colors, or register for other items and wait on the linens and towels and stuff. Or just register and go back later and fix it.

Re: Wedding Invitations and Gift Registry?

I just got my invitations about 2 weeks ago and my wedding is a litle over 4 months away. Just make sure you leave enough time that if you need a calligrapher, they can schedule you in for time. Some of them get rather busy.

Re: Wedding Invitations and Gift Registry?

We are ordering invites this month (wedding is 4 months away).

We registered in June or July, right after we got engaged so that was 7 months before.

Re: Wedding Invitations and Gift Registry?

You can register whenever you want to. You can order your invitations up to 6 months before your wedding.
