my std's are in, florist made me a sample, I

bought my crinoline ( ) and my ears are ringing from the U2 concert last night.,

that was my weekend in a nutshell. I am both happy and sad to report that the search for a crinoline is over...I bought it at RK Bridal. It's a drawstring waist so one size fits MOST, and I am willing to share with anyone interested in a superfull style (for a ball gown)

I also picked up my std's from my friend and let me tell you ladies they look amazing. If I can take a pic that captures the detail of the paper she used, I will, but otherwise a pic won't do it justice. the paper she used for the magnet makes it look like LEATHER....very plush and gorgeous. I was more than thrilled with them.

also, we went by Signature on Friday (Lisa and Hollie- George has a buzz cut since I last saw him ) and he set up a sample CP for fh and I. unfortunately we didn't bring our camera, but let me tell you, I was bowled over. George is fantastic- not at all a 'yes man' that will just take your money. I had an idea that he didn't think would work- instead of just catering to me, he showed me his idea and then mine, and fh and I both agreed that his look MUCH better....I am so happy we went with him. the price he gave me is STAGGERING with all he is doing...he is awesome!

Did George take pictures of your sample at least? Maybe he can send you pictures! I'm dying to know what it looks like!

I am completely utterly envious about the U2 concert...unless you're in a fan club how else did you get the tix???? By the way congrats on your accomplishments!

Lisa- I didn't see him a take pic either, and the store was kind of busy. it was rather impromptu but I will try to describe...

he filled my two julep cups with vandela and light pink roses with tiny pink wax flowers to enhance the color (I originally wanted pink roses, but after seeing it, we all agreed the light pink with the ivory rose would look spectacular)

then in between the two cups, he set up my tall candelabra and wrapped ivy and small ivory flowers around the base and the stem, finally he sprinkled pink and white rose petals in a line between the 3 components of the cp. the effects was lovely.

for my bo-k, I will be varying shades and varieties of pink flowers...peonies, lisanthius (sp), hyacinth, roses, mini cala lillies

for my girls- pink and vandela roses, light blue hydrangea, pink lisanthius (sp)

flower girls will be scattering rose petals from a basket

mom's corsages will be pink orchids
other corsages will be pink and white roses

fh's bout will be a pink mini calla

groomsmen will have vandela rose with pink wax flowers

I THINK this is all right b/c it's coming from memory. I don't have my sheet with me.

one thing he (rightfully) steered me away from was putting orange roses in the bm's bo-ks....I saw a pic of it in a magazine that I loved, but in the end, with the colors I chose, it just didn't work out. I credit George with saving me from myself! LOL

(and oh yeah, the buzz cut looks smokin....if his wife IS lurking, she's got good taste! )

he couldn't create the cp until I got there b/c I am supplying the julep cups and the candles myself- but I have a mental picture for me!
