Repsot from LIF - Pottery Barn Gripe. Anyone have a coupon?

i am interested in purchasing a few items (furniture and rugs) from pottery barn. the total for the 5 items is $2,580.22 (excluding tax) and the shipping is over $650. that is over 25% of the total purchase price.

W T F????

how the H E L L can they charge that amount for shipping? there is a delivery surcharge per item PLUS a 10% charge of the total purchase. i called the 800 # and told the rep that i thought that was beyond INSANE. she actually agreed w/ me and said that there have been A LOT of complaints.

**regardless of how the order is placed (in store, online, telephone) the shipping is the same. store pickup is NOT an option**

i am actually making some progress on this. the store can order some of the items for me (reduced shipping) PLUS since they are available in store SOME of the prices are cheaper ($400) than online and catalog (no idea why but no complaints here). another 2 items are offered through an "unadvertised" sale if purchased online or via phone. PLUS i was able to get a 10% off total purchase price coupon.

as it turns out, i am racking up the savings afterall.

if you moved recently, call the 800 # and tell them your new address. they will send you a 10% coupon.
