Hmmm....my friend just had a very good point RE: New Orleans...
The problem is the hotels - most of them were destroyed or badly damaged. Once everything is back up and running, we'll plan a trip and have some supersized hurricanes (do you think they'll still call them that?).

They could either go the Feedom Fries route & change the name completely or they could embrace it & call the the extra large ones 'Katrinas'

Did you know the British are completely turned off by Patriotism and refer to the Americans as 'flag-wavers'???

They kinda have a point
The guys at the camp site nest to us a few wekes ago were practically draped in Stars & Stripes. They even had American flag folding chairs.

I would think that sitting your a$$ on the flag would be considered unpatriotic.

Just thought my friend's comment about New Orleans still calling the drink 'Hurricaine' a Hurricaine post-Katrina, as it's a sensitive subject for some, was funny. Then Heather mentioned how it's similar to how mounting tension between Americans and the French have led to the 'renaming' of French Fries, and now people refer to them as Freedom Fries...descended into social commentary on patriotism after that...

Ahh yes, Freedom Fries. I have sadly been subjected to Freedom Onion Soup and Patriot Vanilla Frozen Yogurt.Of course, the moment I see that change on a menu I either leave the store/restaurant or mock it loudly, depending on my mood.

You can't make that stuff up!!!
That's Why the dog is named Freedom? I though it had to do with your familiy's perceived native roots.
