Social Security Card Change Question
For those who have changed their name on their SS card, did you need to bring your old SS card with you? I looked at the SS website, but didn't see anything about this. I don't want to find out when I go to the office that I was supposed to bring it. TIA.

Re: Social Security Card Change Question
No..you only need your Marriage License. You will have to fill out a form listing your ss# and information.I went to SS first and then went straight to the DMV to change my license information.

Re: Social Security Card Change Question
My sister just got married Aug and YOU HAVE TO BRING YOUR OLD CARD!!!!! I was there with her. They took it from her and they just look at your marriage license. To get your drivers license changed you need your marriage license and old driver's license. They take your picture and give you a form to fill out there. Social Security said you needed your new card to change your driver's license but you didn't. Both came in the mail within 1-2 wks.

Re: Social Security Card Change Question
I just did it in August... and I didn't need my old card... she did everything without it... and then I asked her if she needed it... (stupid me) and she said oh if you have it ok... if not don't worry about it... since I told her I had it she took it away... I was then sad not to have it... but I got over it when the new one came.
