Ang (Ang&Rich) told me to ask you guys about this..
Hey! I was hoping to get some advice from the '05 ladies. I bought my dress from netbride and got a really good price ($425). My problem is finding a seamstress that won't cost so much. I have a detachable train, so I won't need a bustle. I received a quote from a vendor here ($200 to $250) and that seemed high to me. She said if it needs to be taken up and there is detail on the hem, it costs more??? I don't know about this stuff. Can you give me recommendations and what you paid for alterations if you used someone other than your bridal salon? You can FM me, if you'd rather not post the price. Thanks so much in advance and thanks to Ang for her help, also!!

I had my gown capped at the Bridal Salon at $125 when I ordered it. I'm glad I did because the alterations were way over that.Bussle was in addition to that. ($45)
My gown had a lot of detail and had to be taken in several times. The total would have been approx what you were quoted.
Good luck!

Yay! Glad you came over - I know a lot of the 05 brides have some great recommendations. I've heard very good things about Phyllis at Gownfind. I believe she's a vendor here and someone can give you more details on her.

My seamstress is in Whitestone, Queens, and she's fantastic (although a bit on the $$ side)If you're close to me, I can give you her info.
