Should I do menu cards?
So we won't be picking our two main dishes until about a month before the wedding.....is it necessary to do a menu card, or can I have the waiters just ask everyone what they want to eat?

Re: Should I do menu cards?
I think it's a nice touch, but you definitely don't have to do them.

Re: Should I do menu cards?
We did them but that was because we had a choice of 7 entree's...looking back it was a nice touch but definitely a lot of extra work.

I'm so jealous of you girls that have more than 2 entree selections - that is so great!! One of the things I hate about most weddings is that you have to pick one of two things to eat...so boring! The best wedding I ever went to had something like 7 entree selections as well, and it was so nice.

I'm putting them together now and it IS a lot of work. It's a nice touch but not totally necessary.

how are you doing them? Are you printing them yourself and just using cardstock?

I designed and printed them myself. I'm using a white metallic sheet as a base and a translucent sheet with snowflakes on top (the menu printed on the translucent sheet). I've punched holes in all of them at the top and I'm going to tie in navy blue ribbon. Once I'm done, I'll post pictures, but it's taking so much time because of the hole puncing and ribbon tying.

Re: Should I do menu cards?
I plan on doing menu cards, but I'm a total foodie who loves reading about what I'm about to eat. I also sometimes have a hard time hearing the waiter and have to ask him to repeat everything again. But you don't need them and I don't think anyone will miss them if they're not there. It's certainly not woth stressing about if it's not important to you.

Re: Should I do menu cards?
I did mine on microsoft word in 2 columns & it took me like 1/2 hour. I then printed it & bought scapebooking 8 1/2 x 11 colored paper to match my theme & went to office max & made copies. It cost me about $30 with the supplies & copies. If you want to do them but not spend alot of money or time you can make them simple.

Re: Should I do menu cards?
The reason I love menu cards is because of people with allergies. We were going to do some sort of chicken thing with pistachios and realized that if people had a nut allergy, at least they could read the entree and see 'with pistashio nut blah blah blah' But no, you definitely don't need to have them.

Re: Should I do menu cards?
I made my own, and they were definitely a nice (but not necessary) touch. I used the cards from Michael's that say Menu on the top. It's about $5 for a box of 25. I put 4 cards on each table.

I agree. I did them and I liked how they looked, but it's not a must! BTW - the Capitale wedding that I am going to is in 3 weeks! I'm taking LOTS of pics, just for you

Re: Should I do menu cards?
Maybe do one or two per table and ask the hall for some little stands to put them on??
