Love & Hate

I love and dislike this website at times.

I love it b/c I love talking to all of you girls & hearing about the planning process. I love seeing brides plan their wedding and then read the posts after they have their wedding. It's so exciting! I love learning all about the wedding tips, DIY projects, vendor tips, and to have other people know exactly what you are going through.

I just get so upset when you book a reputable vendor & it gets ripped apart. One bride raves about it and then another bride rants about it. I know all people have good & bad experiences all the time, it just puts that worry and doubt in your head. It causes unneccessary anxiety. But on the flip side, it is good to be aware of all the possible mishaps. Sorry...just had to vent

I love this site.

My opinion is that the vendor opinions are great!!

If you have already booked a vendor that someone is putting down you have to let it go and not think about it. Someone could have a great experience and another can have a horrible experience with the same vendor. We all expect different things from our vendors what is our idea of perfect!

Don't let it get to you, you obviously booked them because you liked them, think you can count on them etc...

I totally agree with you. I do LOVE this site...that is not what I meant with my post. It just stinks when you hear a wonderful & reputable vendor ripped apart. I know, you have to take it with a grain of salt. I am sure that there is at least 1 person out there who has something negative to say about every vendor. You are right - we booked our vendors for a reason & just to remember that!

Thanks! I think I just was stunned. I read a review this morning and had never heard anything negative about this particular vendor and was just surprised!

I agree. My FI and I laugh when we search reviews about our vendors. For instance

I'm getting married at Villa Lombardi's, and have only heard great things. Well this one bride gave it a C- for this reason, her cake was wrong. Villa offered to make her a cake on her cake on her 1st anniversary, but she said no, she wanted the giant cake remade again.

Right now on the brides review there are three raves about our DJ, and one horrible one.

FI and I find them pathetic sometimes because of what people get upset over. Maybe I'm easy going, who knows. I know vendors came be bad, hello thats why I didn't book some of them. I take everything with a grain of salt.

I agree with how you feel, but if someone had an issue with one of my vendors, I have FMed them to clarify.
Then I take their info and try to make sure this mistake won't happen to me.

If the rant is a once in a while issue, then I feel more comfortable, but if the vendor has constant problems, that is a red flag for me.

i agree - sometimes you can get anxiety from what some people say about your vendors.

but i think that there is always someone who will rave and someone who will rip about exactly the same thing.

can't let it make you crazy..

I agree too. Thats why I felt compelled to counter act all of the horrible reviews on the service where I got my dress. If I read one more bad review I was going to cry. Again it reminds us that we are all vulnerable as brides.

I agree 100% - very well stated.

There are going to be positives and negatives about every single vendor - no matter what you may think! There is someone out there somewhere that had a problem with them. My advice, look into what those 'negatives' are and determine for yourself how important they are according to you.

I agree, it is not negative reviews consistently or I would be worried, it is about 1 or 2 compared to about 20 positive reviews! But it still makes you wonder...

AWW I hope you feel better, dont worry too much about those negative reviews, I am sure any vendor you booked or book will be amazing!!

I know what you mean. I booked a vendor, and within a week there was this really negative review about them. I was stressing and flipping out and FH asked exactly how many negative reviews I had read/seen. After I told him it was just that one, he told me to knock it off and stop worrying.
