Videographer Question

Hi ladies:

I am not yet a newlywed but I have a question that I'm hoping you guys can help with.

I am shopping around for a videographer but what I keep hearing and maybe I am misunderstanding them is that at the end of a possible 10hrs of shooting I get an edited 1 1/2hr video...where is the rest of the material then? Can I make them give it to me? I want to see everything they shoot.

So, my question is, is this the norm or am I interviewing the wrong photogs?

Any advice is helpful.

TIA

Re: Videographer Question

I'd love to know what my video guy was doing for the 3.5 hours of my 5 hour reception that wasn't filmed.

I suggest you make sure the duration of your footage is spelled out in writing in your contract, for both edited and unedited videos. And, trust me, 'coverage from cocktail hour through the end of your reception' isn't specific enough!
