Are OOT guests invited to the shower?

My bridal party has asked for an invite list for my shower.

I have family in Seattle and Boston as well as fiends in New Hampshire and PA. Should they be sent a shower invite? I would love to have them there but know that they won't be able to come and I hate to ask them to travel 2x so close together. I don't want to seem like I am asking them for a gift and I would rather have them there to celebrate the wedding day anyway but I don't want to leave them out by not inviting them.

I am asking them. All of FH's guests are OOT. If I did not include OOT guests, I would not be including anyone from FH's side. I am sure most of them are not going to come, but I think tHey should be invited, and they can decide wther or not they want to travel.

I am doing the same thing as Lauren. I want to give my OOT guests the option of coming.

Though it's only Jersey, my FMIL elected to have a second shower with her guests. It worked well, I think.

But I do have friends in other parts of the country and they were all invited to the shower. Most of them didn't show up, which I wouldn't expect.

I say you should invite them because they could be insulted that they weren't invited. To be honest, there are a couple that were invited, didn't come and did not send a gift. I don't really care, but I don't think they necessarily see it as a call for presents.

I plan on including them all-just out of respect.

I invited everyone.....some people actually travelled from Florida to come to my shower, and it meant a lot to me....

I would invite them all- it's up to them if they want to travel

maybe they would make a whole weekend out of it

I definitely plan to invite OOT guests to my shower. Two of my aunts are OOT and already talking about their plans to come down for it - I think that many OOT guests would be insulted not to be invited (plus I really want them there!)

my MOH came in from San Diego for mine so you never know.

Just a GF of a cousin from Chicago wasn't ivited, but she would have been if she lived locally. I had nothing to do with that, I'm sure it was mentioend to the cousin though.

All our other OOT was NJ & CT & they came.

I am inviting all of the OOT guests to the shower.

I am also having my bachelorette party the same night so the OOT guests can be included in both.

I will invite mine hopefully they will come. My maid of honor is in las vegas I pray she could come.

My Mom and bridal party did not invite out of town guests except for my one friend in Boston who actually came.

I went to Florida for a shower but I'm a bridesmaid so that different. But that bride who was my bridesmaid did not attend my shower.

I totally agree. It's nice to extend the invite, but in reality, we know that most won't be able to make it. It's still nice to send one, though. You never know, they may surprise you!

if its like 40 people- cut it down
