Hotel for OOT guests

FH and I will be in NY for Thanksgiving and are planning on looking for a hotel to block rooms for OOT guests. Can anyone recommend somewhere near Fox Hollow?

I'm looking for a nice hotel that's reasonably priced with a bar/restaurant for after party (we're having an afternoon wedding) and brunch the next day. It would be great if they provided a shuttle to transport guests to/from Fox Hollow, but not absolutely necessary.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Inn at Fox Hollow - rather 'expensive' though
Best Western - provides shuttles

Re: Hotel for OOT guests

When I searched for hotels in that area, I went to four.

Executive Inn- not very nice, smelled musty, and a very tight parking lot but they do have a shuttle.

Melville Marriott- very nice and reasonably priced. We timed the drive from the
woodbury cc and it was less than 10 minutes. Very easy directions for guests to follow without getting lost (dont think they have a shuttle). They have a nice size restaurant and private rooms for breakfast/brunch.

Plainview Sheraton (or the inn at plainview)- also very nice and reasonably priced. No shuttle as of yet but they said they are working on it. They do have brunch but you would probably want to get a private room since the eating area is so small.

Hilton (on Route 110)- very nice. shuttle costs $350. They have private rooms for breakfast or they can section off an area from their restaurant.

I hope this helps.

Re: Hotel for OOT guests

My OOT (as well as myself the night before) are staying at the Melville Marriott.

ETA: My wedding is at the Crest Hollow (almost right next door to Fox Hollow)

Thanks girls! I'll definitely check out all of your suggestions. Do I have to make appts or can we just go and talk to someone? It'll be either the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving that we'll be looking.

I didnt need appointments for any of them. As soon as you tell you them you want to block off rooms, they get a salesperson for you. I did call them all first, to get prices and told them when I would be coming.
There are no salespeople on the weekend at the melville marriott (but the staff did show me a guest room).

I would call and make an appt. Especially since it's a holiday weekend. You want make sure someone is available to show you the rooms.

I planned from OOT also and I always made appts before we came to NY. It made our trips so much more productive. I actually looked at hotels during one trip and then did the contract via fax and email when I got back to Chicago.

Good Luck!

I'm planning from Chicago too. I defintiely don't want to get there and find out I can't get any info or see the rooms, so I'll call ahead to at least let them know we're coming if they don't take appointments. Thanks!
