honeymoon help - mexico, spain, or portugal?

FH and I have gone back and forth on the HM ... first we were definitely doing italy but we really want to just chill out and we feel like if we go to italy we'll feel like we should be seeing the sites (neither of us have been there), then we were set on mexico -- cabo. Recently someone told me that it would be HOT there at that time (end of june, beginning of july). So, we're getting a little nervous about that.... Anyone been there at that time?

So -- now we're back to Europe and thinking maybe Spain or Portugal... Anyone have any recommendations on which is best temp wise and location wise?!?! We're looking for pretty beaches and a night life, but also the ability to do some touristy stuff on days we want.

Re: honeymoon help - mexico, spain, or portugal?

I went to Cancun, MX a few years back during that time (Went from June 25 - July 1) It was hot, but not much different than it gets here in the summer. It was in the 90's every day, but if you're by the water, the breezes cool you off somewhat. We're going back in May, so I guess we're gluttons for punishment!!

Sorry I don't have any info on Spain or Portugal, but you have a tough choice!!

crashing on your board..

I would go to spain. this year July had some hurricanes..you don't want to risk that. Spain is gorgeous. not sure what you are interested in, but the weather is great, food is yummy, and there are both beaches and cities to explore. In spain you could check out barcelona first, it's really pretty, then maybe you could head out to the costa del sol beachy area
I liked italy a lot but i can see how it's more exploring than you would want in a hm.

Spain all the way!!!!!!! Everyone I know that has gone there has loved it. FH is dying to go to Madrid.
I went to Portagul when I was real little, so I don't remember much. My dad said it is not as nice anymore.
I think Mexico is just okay, Unless you are going to the west coast like Cabo san Lucas (Beautiful).
Never been to Italy, but I would love to go.

I would definitely recommend Barcelona..the beaches are gorgeous and there's some sightseeing stuff to do too, but nothing too overwhelming.

Off of Portugal, there's a group of islands called Azores that has some beautiful beaches too. I think you can take a charter flight there from Madrid.
