Re: How to preserve wedding cake and flowers?

Well, I was told to wrap our wedding cake in several layers of plastic wrap. I think I was supposed to use three, but I went crazy and wrapped it in 5 layers. Then I put the whole thing in a baggy, and put it in a plastic container in the freezer.

DH and I broke down and ate it on our 3 month anniversary (also 1 year since we got engaged), but for those 3 months this method worked well. No freezer burn.

Re: How to preserve wedding cake and flowers?

Not sure about the flowers.

But my cake - we put the box in the freezer over night. The next morning, we out saran wrap around it - about 2 layers, and then aluminum foil 2 layers. Then put the cake back in the box. Then put saran wrap around the box and put it back in the freezer.

We took it out 2 days before our anniversary and it was awesome! It tasted sooooo fresh!!

We also wrapped the cake in many layers of saran wrap then in tin foil and then put it in a food saver box.

I am having the flowers perserved by keepsake floral. I know alot of people dry them upside down and then put them in a shadowbox.

Re: How to preserve wedding cake and flowers?

I literally used a box of saran wrap and aluminum foil around our cake box. I kept saying to myself...'just one more layer...just one more layer'.

I'm preserving my bouquet with Keepsake Floral.

Re: How to preserve wedding cake and flowers?

I froze the cake and then vacuumed sealed it.

My flowers I just hung upside down to dry them. I kind of wish I would've looked into preserving them.

Re: How to preserve wedding cake and flowers?

I put two layers of wrap on it and them put it in a tuperwear container. I'm not really sure if that's right?
