Whats a good romantic weekend trip to take?

DH and I want to go away for our first anniversary...on the weekend of Dec. 3. Im a teacher so I can't take time off during the week. The weekend we got married we went to Newport and stayed at the Bayberry Inn. It was really nice....but the price more than doubled for this year. We waited to book hoping the price would come down...but now all the rooms that we would stay in are booked. So...my question is....Have you gone away for a romantic weekend and where did you stay?

Im really up for anything...so I appreciate and suggestions.

DH and I just got back from our second trip to Mohonk Mountain house. I love it there. We went hiking, rowing, swimming in the heated pool, got a couples massage, spent time in front of the fire place. It was a fantastic little trip.

Oh definitely! I used to live up there and almost worked there...it's got such an incredible feel to the place!
