Wedding gown shopping - does anyone else feel...
Hello ladies!I was wondering if anyone else feels like I do. I've been to quite a few shops to try on gowns. I've found a couple that I like but I don't 'love' either of them. I wouldn't mind wearing them but I'm getting a bit discouraged b/c everyone says that you'll 'love' your dress or you'll know b/c it's 'the one'. I want to keep looking but at the same time I don't want too b/c I feel like I'm never going to find one that I absolutely love. Please tell me someone else has experienced this too

You are not alone. Hang in there. Maybe look at different styles. Figure out what you like about certain dresses and what you don't like. Some girls are just not that emotional. Some don't cry and some don't say love there gown. There was a past post on this.
Trust me you are not alone.

Re: Wedding gown shopping - does anyone else feel...
I had a little bit of the opposite problem. I found quite a few that I liked.
I did limit the # I tried on by knowing what I was looking for.
Magazine pics helped. There are A LOT that I didn't like, too.
But then there was THE ONE. I wasn't sure about it and tried on a few more at another shop, but then I knew it was IT.
Don't get discouraged!!! You will find THE ONE.

I feel your pain. I tried on a dress that I loved loved loved but it was way out of my price range. Don't ask me why I even tried it on. lol. Now I am comparing every other dress to the dress can't afford. lolHopefully, I will find something in my price range that is comparable.

aww...don't get discouraged!! some women had to head to dozens of shops before they find the right one. yours is out there....i know you'll find it!!my problem is i'm deathly afraid of trying on wedding dresses. i'm a 'plus size' lady, and well, let's be honest, many bridal shops aren't exactly chock full of plus size samples for us to try on! i fear i won't find the 'one' either, but i know it's out there, and eventually the two of us shall meet!!
good luck!

I was also getting frustrated. I tried on close to 25 dresses before I found the one. I even had to go back to the salon 3 times to try it on before I made my decision. Dont worry, you will find yours.

I was lucky, my sister on the other hand, well I went with her to 8 different bridal salons, and helped her into 70-80 different dresses before she found 'the one'. She was completely ready to give up and 'settle' on something, but I urged her not to give up on her dream dress.

I feel exactly like you do. I'm just so not in the mood to look anymore. There's always something I don't like about my 'favorite' in each store I've been to.... I guess we'll have to just keep looking

Re: Wedding gown shopping - does anyone else feel...
This happened to me, I must have gone to 20 or more different bridal shops on Long Island and NYC. For me, the problem was that I was just not Into the whole flashy embroidery thing...The exact moment I knew the dress I thought 'could be it' was when we booked our trumpeters and I was listening to Here Comes the Bride and immediately the image of me in that Richard Glassgow dress popped into my head. I knew right then and there and I had to go run out and buy it.
What shops have you been going to? Maybe you need to up your price range a bit? I found that worked for me. If you up your price range, you can always buy the store sample!

Re: Wedding gown shopping - does anyone else feel...
I hate gown shopping with a burning passion.I can't find anything I love, or for that matter anything I would slightly consider.
It is the one wedding task I had thought for sure I would enjoy... exact opposite has happened.
The only thing I can say is look into having it custom made. I am highly considering this. My next stop is the Bridal Building in Manhattan. Another bride told me about a vendor there. Here is a cp of the info:
1385 bdwy - 6th floor. Stuart something. Only open on Saturdays 9- 1:30.
they have samples available to try on - then they measure you - and in three months - voila! you have a custom made dress.
price can't be beat. I really do believe the guy that he's a wholesaler and sells to all the big stores, etc.

Re: Wedding gown shopping - does anyone else feel...
Maybe you are looking at the wrong style for your shape. I know that I was looking at empire waist and A-Line ball gowns and they made my hips look HUGE. THen I tried a dropped waist and found the perfect gown! I would advise trying to go to a store that holds LOTS of gowns, like RK Bridal and checking through everything. It doesn' have to be so depressing. Try on things that you wouldn't normally try on. That is how I found my gown. What you have in your mind may not be the best option, but sometimes it is. Basically, expand your search.I hope this helps and I really do understand where you guys are coming from
