hello all!!!! I am home from my hm and very excited to join this board!!!

I am looking forward to crossing over! I probably wont be on as much, but I have promised to stick around for the remaining of the '05 girls and then we will see from there. anyway I have a question..... when depositing all of our wedding gifts is there a penalty at tax time? I was wondering because i know you can get a gift of 11k per person, but what if you are over that?? thanks so much!

Do you mean an individual gaveyou more than 11k, or you and DH have more than 11k each now in total?

I thought it only mattered if someone gave you more than ten thousand dollars, if so, taxes have to be paid. ... but it doesn't matter if you get lots of gifts that add up to that much if the gifts are from all different people. At least that's how i understand it.
