First Week in JULY?...HATE FLYING...BUT we want somehere HOT!!

i hate to fly? so i don't want to travel more than 4 or 5 hours....less is best!..we would love somehere we can hang out on the beach all day and go swimming...anyone? and its the first week of july so what about huricanes?

There usually aren't hurricanes in Aruba, which is for us about a 5 hour flight (direct). But if you really hate to fly, there are cruises that go from NY or NJ and go directly to Bermuda

We are going to Disney World for that exact reason!

Believe me, i'm way MORE terrified of flying than you (I hate takeoff)!!! I get SO nervous even a day or 2 leading up to flying, but i'm s*cking it up and we're going to Tahiti! 13 hours on a plane... but it's going to be amazing!

I just think, how else am I going to see the world if I don't fly?

Suggestions... I agree with Aruba since it's outside the hurricane belt... but you are kind of limited if you only want to go 4 or 5 hours. My friend did Cabo, but that's 7 or 8 hrs away. Hawaii is a great option, but about 10 hrs away. You could also always do the caribbean and take out trip insurance.

How bout a cruise out of NY or NJ to Bermuda? Or how bout Cancun, Mexico, or somewhere on the beach in Florida?

I also hate to fly and it seems that the older i got, the more afraid i became. I used to fly 3 times a year to florida to visit my dad when i was in elementary school. Now i dread flying. I have nightmares months before and the day of... forget it! I can't eat (and i love to eat), i can't drink because it will end up in my FH's lap, and i can never sleep! I went to England last year on an overnight flight and took two sleeping pills... and NOTHING! It's horrible. I once went to Mexico and the flight was really bad and i refused to get on the next flight. I was willing to take the train home from Mexico. But i got on the 2nd flight and i was sitting down and luggage fell on my head. I thought it was a sign!

But i never let the fear of flying stop me from going places. For me... i think it's a lack of control issue for me, as well as the fear of dying. But i still want to see the world... so i have no choice. I'm going to Hawaii on my honeymoon and sucking up the 13 hours.

Have you thought about like Bermuda? Or just going to the Sandals resort in the bahamas? Those are nice and quick flights!

Bermuda gets my vote--very beautiful and a lot to see and do!! i think the flight is under 2 hours( we cruised from NY there and it was very-very convenient!!)

we are going to the bahamas the first week of july and its not a long flight at all......

yea.. bermuda is gorgeous too, loved it there!@!!

I hear your pain! I HATE flying I dont know how I"m going to do handle my HM..We are going to 2 islands and both islands require a transfer

I know how you feel about flying! Try Miami or Puerto rico. Trinidad and Tobago is beautiful or Cancun, Mexico

fly to bermuda. the flight from Ny is about 2 1/2 hrs. early july should beat hurrican season.

I would suggest Aruba since the flight is about 4 1/2 hrs from JFK, I absolutely loathe flying and it really isnt that bad at all

Curacao is great and below the hurricane belt. I don't think that there are direct flights there so you can cut you flight in the middle with a lay over in Florida.

We are going to Anguilla. it is only a 4 hour flight!!! I also was told that we are safe going to anguilla in the begiunning of july as far as hurricaines.
