What Favors are you thinking of doing?

im thinking of doing champagne glasses filled with blue and purple customized m&m's (since i will be doing blue and purple and white color)

only if i can get a good deal on the glasses tho
what are you ladies thinking?

Not sure yet, but i want it to be useful to my guests, nothing that they would throw away a few months after my wedding.


PS the glass with the M&Ms is a nice idea.

My mom got some cute tea light vases with hand painted tulips on cracked glass. Looks really nice.

thats cute idea.. we did the persoanlized m&m's for our e-party they were a big hit...

you could get champaine glasses from an outlet store in riverhead.. or even try amazing savings/ odd job stores like that

yes im going to try ebay too but not anytime soon since i still got plenty of time and change my mind a lot LOL but i figure people could use the champagne glass ( i would get glass ones not plastic) and eat the m&m's

I am doing the M&Ms too!! I love them!
they are just going to be a small part of my favor though because i have to have them! I think i am just going to put them in small clear box with a bow or something.

for the main favor we are thinking of maybe doing wine from upstate where we went to college and met...not sure yet though...have to figure out what the cost would be

wow, everyone has great ideas!!

I have not even thought of it yet!!!

I always liked those demitasse sets..but FBIL did them for his wedding...so I was thinking about getting those small one cup or two cup espresso makers...

those could be expensive though.. how much is everyone htinking of spending on favors.. i don't have much in the budget for favors...

Ugh...i hate having to think of favors!! LOL everyone keeps asking us that... 'what are you doing for favors? what are you doing for favors?' i have no frigging clue!! part of me is like, 'to heck with favors..they'll probably get thrown out anyway!' LOL

i need something cheap and easy, cause i'll have too much going on during that time as it is.

good point....I don't know how much people normally spend on favors?

Here's the thing....Every weddign I have been to has pretty good favors....I've always like candles for favors too..

But FMIL said I could not do those becasue people would think I was cheap...and I never thought that...coming from New Mexico wedding favors here are very practical....like mand m's sorts of things..candles.... plant bulbs..things like that

Is my FMIL just being a pain in the a ?

I don't know anythning about NY weddings so sometimes I go with what she says...but now I have you girls

from what ive seen no one does a weddings like New Yorkers.. its a big to do production.. the best of the best the top of the top...

thats what i was concerned with(looking cheap)..FH and i are comming from a big italian families.. everyone's got a comment.. it's a big competition.. who's kid/cousin has the better wedding

Exactly....Peter is from a massive Italian family, and the first wedding I went to was his brothers at the Riviera in Coney Island.. I thought it was the most extravagant and beautiful wedding...and I still heard people talking.....

So if thats how they are...then poo on them...

But I still want to follow some etiquette...so Angela I'm gonna need too get advice from you for a lot of things...

I come from a big German Italian Puerto Rican Family....Give us a pig on a spit and some pastries and we'll party till 4 in the AM!!!

lol.. thats to funny...

if FIL's are completly off the boat.. the only thing you have to remember is bigger is better & more is not less (which also mean you betta have deep pockets)

We are doing a cross between a OOT basket and favor.
We are going to do a basket filled with bottle water, chips, cookies, stuff like that. We are also including in that basket a bottle of vermont maple syrup, a bottle of local vermont wine and a small box of vermont chocolate all which will have lables for our wedding.
