Re: I cant believe Jessica Simpson & Nick Are over
i think so! normal everyday people would have their assets split equally, so why should they be treated any differently?

Re: I cant believe Jessica Simpson & Nick Are over
Well, they didn't have a prenup and she supposedly made $35 million last year. In CA, the laws says 50-50 when you divorce so technically, yes, he should. Personally -it doesn't matter to me; they're well off financially either way.

Re: I cant believe Jessica Simpson & Nick Are over
of course he should get half the money and alimoney- if it was the other way around - no one would question it
that is the law in cali- 50/50
I am sure she spent most of it- and I doubt she made $35M last year
the misreport her earnings from the dessert line- the line made $35 in sales- not profit

Re: I cant believe Jessica Simpson & Nick Are over
NO!!!!
I believe whatever they had PRIOR to the marriage should be theirs and any income earned DURING the marriage should be split 50-50. But that's just me. And YES, I believe the same thing if the roles were reversed. I don't think it's fair to split finances that were earned prior to marriage in any instance. So many people marry for money these days, it's disgusting. Look at Britney and her husband. Talk about ridiculous!!! But hey this is just my opinion, which means nothing to no one but me!!!

I think she made about $500,000 for dukes- about $499,000 more then she was worth!
I love Jess- but not for her acting skills

he had more before marriage- the 50/50 is only own what was earned during
and let's face it - if she didn't marry him- and make newlyweds- she would be broke and working at Mickey D's now!

We may not like it, but it is a California state law.

Are you sure about the 50/50 for only during the marriage? Isn't it on the whole enchilada regardless? Isn't that what pre-nups are for, to protect what they already had prior to?
Before - theirs During - 50/50 After - theirs
I just think it's fair that way that's all.

Re: I cant believe Jessica Simpson & Nick Are over
Not that I really care about these people lives but why shouldn't they split the assets 50-50? That is the problem with folks these days no one wants to share or even be fare minded that is why marriages will always end up in divorce JMO.

I still haven't seen it. I love John Schneider the original Dukes!!!
I love Jess too for her voice. Her acting though, I didn't want to be subjected too after all the bad reviews.

Re: I cant believe Jessica Simpson & Nick Are over
Her father announced it on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so all the people who work for Access Hollywood, Extra and the tabloids had to go into work on Thanksgiving and the next day. He kind of blamed the media for causing them to separate so he wanted to stick it to them for the holidays.

Re: I cant believe Jessica Simpson & Nick Are over
yes I agree he should definately get half. If she didn't marry him she would still be a C list star.
And whoever said Nick sat on his behind please. Newlyweds is what made the money start coming in the door so he did his part.
If you get married with no prenup you agree to split 50% to me. They both know the laws where they live.
