flower girl question
my 3 year old flower girls parents decided they didn't want her in the wedding (five months before the wedding) so now I have no flowergirl. My fi cousin is 11 1/2 and he would like to have her be in the wedding. Is she too old to be a flower girl? I have 8 bms and don't want a jr bm. is she too old even if she is escorting our 3 year old ring bearer down the aisle?

Re: flower girl question
My 2 nieces are going to be 12 at my wedding and they are jr bridemaids - I think once they are 9 they are too old to be a flower girl.

Re: flower girl question
She is to old IMO, She would be more of a junior BM. It is your wedding and you could do what ever you want.

Re: flower girl question
I have my two cousins who will be 11 by the time of My wedding they will be my jr BMs....they will wear the same dress as my BMs but will have spaghetti straps and my BMs are tube not too difficult.....Why don't you want a jr BM? and have the rinbearer walk by himself.

Re: flower girl question
I think that is too old to be a Flowergirl. I would say either just have the ring bearer or make her a JR BM. But it is your wedding, you do what you want.

Re: flower girl question
IMO I think she is too old. But hey if it's ok with you, FH and the girls parents then I say go for it. I hate when people tell me what to do

Re: flower girl question
Age is such a random thing. Does she look like she is almost 12, or does she look like she is 9? Will she be happy being a flower girl or will she think she is too 'mature' for such a thing. IMHO, age shouldn't be the sole determining factor. My flower girl will be 2 months shy of her 10th b-day on my wedding day. Lots of people have said she is too old, but she is excited and thrilled and is driving her mother crazy practicing throwing petals.

Re: flower girl question
I know a lot of 11 year old girls who would be thrilled to be a flowergirl... I think it really depends on the girl and how much of a 'being cool and mature' complex she has.At 11 she's still a young child. I think it will be fine.

Re: flower girl question
IMHO, 11 1/2 is too old for a flower girl, but if you want her in the wedding she could be a JrBM. My JrBMs are 9 and 10 and my flower girls are 4. I think that an 11 year old girl may not want to be a flower girl. I was in my sister's wedding when I was 10 and I wanted to be a JrBM. She says I made her crazy because I wanted my dress exactly like the other bridesmaids.
At the time, our nephew was 3 and he was the ring barer. We each walked down the aisle separately, but we were announced to come into the reception together. We lined up across from eachother for the line up and we danced together. I felt much older and in charge, so I carried him to dance. HTH.
