QOTD_ do you guys find it interesting how a topic question can be misinterpreted to a certain extent, and sometimes changed COMPLETELY by certain answers?

i know it is sometimes hard to tell what people mean from an email (or message board) but I read so many posts where the original posters topic becomes so diluted, that their question is not even being answered anymore (or the topic has been driven WAY off course.)

This phenomenon interests me to no end. Am I the only freak that notices this stuff? and why do you ladies think this happens?

I definitely notice this! I think part of the reason this happens is because of the 'tone' of the post. When a person speaks, you can usually understand what is being asked because of the tone. However on a message board, I may think that I am being witty and lighthearted, but others see it as rude, etc.

I love that you added clarification to the question from yesterday-

but if I hate hose then wouldn't it stand to reason that I would go sans hose even with strappy shoe mid winter???

but Yes Jess-it is funny how the posts change.

I notice it, too. Sometimes I'm guilty of that but I try to go back to change my response when I catch it.

But even if you (I mean the general you here) post again to clarify your question, everyone responds to all of the other posts and it's easy for the first question to be lost in all of the 'conversation.'

Yes.. This is usually how drama starts. Someone asks something, someone answers something different and then it flies off from there and no one even remembers what the original post was even about.

I see what you are saying...but really what I was asking was would you freeze for fashion...in hindsight, I suppose the way I just worded it now was better- but it kind of became a hose bashing LOL.

anyway, I wasn't only speaking of my post yesterday- I see it happen a lot.

and PS - i've noticed that its the random bride to be that causes the drama. you know the one? she has like 4 posts and just decides that she's going to start disagreeing with anything anyone says just because...that pisses me off - but usually if you ignore them, tehy go away.

You're definitely not the only freak!!!

I think it happens because some people start answering other people's posts and take things personally or take offense to it. Also, you really can't tell how the person meant the post, as Hollie said, the 'tone' is not known.
